Big boost to potato industry in Kenya

National Potato Council of Kenya has partnered with the COMESA-EAC Horticulture Accelerator (CEHA) to promote potato as a strategic crop in Kenya. CEHA was created in 2022 by public and private sector partners to coordinate value chain development programs within COMESA countries. In Kenya, CEHA will identify and support MSMEs in Irish potato and other value chains through matching grants and tech assistance to create employment, minimize post-harvest losses. On 31st Jan 2024, NPCK and CEHA Team from Zambia paid a courtesy visit to Wedgehut Foods, a potato processor, to discuss, learn, and have a better understanding of the processing industry in Kenya.
