CIFOR-ICRAF announces new CEO

CIFOR-ICRAF has announced the appointment of Éliane Ubalijoro as Chief Executive Officer of CIFOR-ICRAF and Director General of ICRAF.

Dr. Ubalijoro brings a wealth of knowledge from the academia, science-policy, and international development sectors, with over two decades of research on innovation, gender, and sustainable development.

She will take over the new role in May 2023 and will be the first African woman Director General of a CGIAR centre and CEO of two centres in CGIAR’s 52-year history.

“CIFOR-ICRAF has never been better equipped than now. With Dr. Ubalijoro’s wealth of experience, we look forward to the new heights that we will reach in our mission to address interconnected global challenges through the power of forests, trees, and agroforestry.”
