Empowering avocado farmers: A step towards global competitiveness

Yesterday was a milestone day for avocado farmers at Avocado Solutions Africa, as they embarked on a transformative journey toward Global GAP & GRASP certification. The training session was not just about compliance—it was about equipping farmers with the knowledge and skills to enhance their productivity, meet international standards, and access premium markets.

With avocado exports booming globally, the ability to meet stringent international requirements is no longer optional; it’s a necessity for farmers aiming to scale their agribusiness. The training provided practical insights into sustainable farming, food safety, worker welfare, and environmental conservation, ensuring that participants left empowered to implement best practices on their farms.

The enthusiasm in the room was palpable, as farmers engaged in discussions, asked critical questions, and shared experiences. It was a session filled with learning, growth, and a collective commitment to excellence in avocado farming.

By the end of the day, every participant walked away not just with knowledge, but with a clear vision for the future—a future where Kenyan avocados are globally recognized for quality, sustainability, and ethical production.

At Avocado Solutions Africa, we believe that empowering farmers is the key to unlocking the full potential of Kenya’s avocado industry. Yesterday was just the beginning of a journey toward a more sustainable, profitable, and competitive avocado agribusiness
