The fourth edition of the Farm Clinic will be held in Meru at Kaguru Agricultural Training Centre In Meru on May 20.
A statement from Elgon Kenya Ltd that sponsors the clinics said going by the experiences of the past such events large numbers of farmers are expected at the agriculture-rich county and beyond to listen to experts, network and learn new techniques.
The theme of the Kaguru clinic is Creating Opportunities in Dairy and Horticulture Farming where experts from several organizations will share will knowledge on how farmers and agriprenuers can profit from the two sub-sectors.
Past clinics have been held in Thika, Njoro and Kitale. “ Farmers start streaming into the venues early armed with all sorts of questions as well as sick plants seeking answers from experts and we don’t expect anything different,” said Nelson Maina, Elgon Kenya head of communications who added the company has established an online version of the clinic to enable farmers and experts interact continuously.
The initiative is supported by Elgon Kenya, Seeds of Gold, Egerton University, Meru County Government and Simba Corp.
