Job Title: Agronomist

Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Agronomist to join our team in our farm in Juja. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in crop management, soil science, and agricultural research to optimize crop yields and improve farm productivity.
Responsibilities: Monitor crops for signs of disease, insect infestation, weed issues, or soil problems and recommend appropriate solutions
Undertake internal inspections to assess compliance with quality management systems such as BRC, Global GAP, and ETI requirements
Develop and deliver effective training programs on Good Agricultural Programs (GAP) to enhance productivity and quality
Conduct field trials and experiments to test new crops, farming practices, and soil amendments
Develop and implement crop management plans, including planting, irrigation, and harvesting schedules
Analyze soil samples to determine nutrient levels and develop fertilizer programs
Analyze crop and water test results and provide recommendations on optimal farming inputs to improve crop growth and yield
Collaborate with farmers to implement best practices in crop rotation, pest management, and integrated pest management
Participate in research projects to improve farm efficiency and productivity
Develop and maintain relationships with farmers, suppliers, and other stakeholders
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field (such as Horticulture, Soil Science, or Plant Pathology)
2-3 years of experience in a farm set-up or similar agricultural environment
Valid driving license Strong understanding of crop science, soil science, and agricultural research principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team Familiarity with farming practices, including crop rotation, irrigation systems, and pest management techniques

Description:We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The QC Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that products meet specified standards of quality, integrity, and performance prior to shipment. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to promoting a culture of quality within our organization.
Responsibilities: Conduct inspections of raw materials, in-process items, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols.
Maintain accurate and thorough records of inspections and findings; write reports on quality-related issues.
Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
Execute regular quality audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
Use measurement and testing equipment, including calipers, gauges, and other tools, to evaluate products.
Perform data analysis to detect trends and areas requiring attention.
Participate in training programs to enhance understanding of quality control processes and methodologies.
Assist in developing training materials and sessions for staff regarding quality standards and practices.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality regulations and standards throughout the production process.
Requirements: Diploma or degree in a relevant field (e.g., Quality Assurance, Horticulture or Agriculture) is preferred.
Proven experience in quality control or a related field, preferably in the Horticulture industry.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Familiarity with quality management systems like HACCP and BRC.
Ability to interpret technical documents and drawings.
Proficient in the use of quality inspection tools and software.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
