The day was more than just a gathering; it was a platform designed to create awareness among farmers, educate them on the latest and most effective farming methods, and showcase a wide range of products that are essential for successful potato farming. The importance of the event was underscored by the presence of the Cabinet Secretary (CS) of Nandi County, who, along with a delegation of farmers from the region, demonstrated the government’s vested interest in supporting and uplifting local farmers in the agricultural sector.

He highlighted the country’s fertile lands and favorable climatic conditions, which make it possible for farmers to achieve up to three harvest seasons annually. Mr. Gasperi urged farmers to take full advantage of these natural resources, emphasizing that with the right techniques and products, Kenya can significantly boost its potato production.

Companies such as Elgon Kenya, an agri-input provider, showcased products designed to boost crop productivity. Platinum Credit Limited, a microfinance company, offered solutions to farmers facing financial constraints, ensuring they have the capital needed to continue their farming activities. CFAO Kenya, which specializes in selling tractors to large-scale farmers, highlighted how modern machinery can ease the workload and increase efficiency. EXOME Kenya, known for its organic fertilizers, promoted sustainable farming practices, while Korteva presented its range of fertilizers aimed at improving soil health and crop yields.
